The Feria Nacional de Ganadería y Agricultura, Fegasur, reopens its doors at the Ifeca facilities in Jerez, from Friday, November 6 to Sunday, November 8. Access is free and the institutional opening is scheduled for 13:30 on Friday. The event returns after two years without being held due to two outbreaks of infectious diseases that put livestock health at risk and forced its cancellation. This 25th edition expects the participation of 602 head of livestock, compared to 554 at the last edition held. There will be specimens of bovine, ovine, porcine, caprine, equine and poultry breeds. The commercial exhibition will bring together 25 companies of different kinds: agricultural and livestock machinery, food, health, breeders' associations, business associations, animal equipment, automotive and workwear.

National auction and competitions

The central axis of the fair is the Subasta Nacional Oficial de Ganado, included in the ministerial calendar, which will be held at 12:00 on Sunday, November 8. Alongside it, the morphological competitions, technical sessions and informative activities promoting environmental conservation return, with promotion of native Cádiz species. For the general public, a complementary programme has been prepared, «Todos en Fegasur», with the aim of bringing the quality and variety of the province's agricultural and livestock production closer to the population, as detailed by the Diputación de Cádiz. The guided educational visits of the Programa de Educación Ambiental y Sostenibilidad are maintained. In addition, the IEDT will present its Spain-Portugal cross-border cooperation projects focused on digital transformation and the competitiveness of SMEs, primarily rural ones, and the exhibition «Bestiarium» by photographer José Barea can be seen, with images of native Spanish select livestock breeds. Collaborating with the Diputación in the organisation are the Delegación Territorial de Agricultura, Pesca, Agua y Desarrollo Rural de la Junta de Andalucía; the Real Federación Española de Asociaciones de Ganado Selecto; the national livestock breeders' associations; the Federación Andaluza de Asociaciones de Defensa Sanitaria del Ganado; Asaja-Cádiz, COAG-Cádiz and UPA-Cádiz.
