Plaza de España will host the fourth edition of the Milla Popular de San Carlos on Saturday, November 14, from 11:00 a.m. The event is open to any child who wants to come along and join in the activities, with no prior registration required, as detailed by the Asociación de Vecinos Muralla de San Carlos, which organises the event in collaboration with the Ayuntamiento de Cádiz. The organisers expect between 300 and 350 children linked to scout groups to take part. This year the rotating groups system introduced at the previous edition will be repeated, allowing all participants to go through the different activities without having to wait, as explained by the association's representative, Luis de Rivas.

Sack races, tug of war and an activity with the ONCE

The activities include traditional games such as sack races, tug of war and other popular events. There will also be an inclusive activity in collaboration with the ONCE, with materials and resources to bring participants closer to the reality of blind people and the difficulties they face in their daily lives. The event will end with the award of a commemorative medal to each participant and a snack with fruit and natural juices. There will also be prizes and special collaborations, including a contribution from Cádiz CF. The poster for this edition is the work of Jaime Fernández de la Puente. The organisers thank the volunteers, the scout groups, Protección Civil and the entities and companies that support the event. The councillor for Youth and Children, Gloria Bazán, has stated that this type of initiative offers healthy leisure alternatives to the youngest and helps to create spaces for meeting and coexistence in the city. The councillor for Sports, Carlos Lucero, has for his part highlighted the work of the neighbourhood association throughout the year and the importance of keeping sport and childhood united. To take part, simply come to Plaza de España on Saturday, November 14 from 11:00 a.m. The activity is free and does not require registration.
