FAISEM rehearses the evacuation of its centre in El Carmen with ten people

The FAISEM centre on El Carmen street has carried out a fire evacuation drill in the monitors' room. Ten people, including users and staff, got out in an hour with the support of El Puerto Civil Protection.

The centre of the Fundación Pública Andaluza para la Integración Social de Personas con Enfermedad Mental (FAISEM) on calle El Carmen has carried out an evacuation drill. The exercise simulated a fire in the monitors' room and ten people took part, including users of the centre and the professionals who attend to them.
The evacuation was carried out in an orderly and safe manner, with the assembly point outside. The action began at half past ten in the morning and lasted for one hour.
Second drill in a week
It is the second drill carried out at FAISEM facilities, after the one that took place last week at the centre on calle Federico Rubio.
Volunteers from Protección Civil de El Puerto de Santa María supervised the development of the exercise and offered technical advice to evaluate the centre's response and improve its self-protection procedures.
Municipal assessment
The deputy mayor for Security of the Ayuntamiento de El Puerto de Santa María, Jesús Garay, has highlighted the involvement of FAISEM staff and Protección Civil. According to him, their work is essential to strengthen prevention and safety in centres that care for especially vulnerable people, and periodic drills allow the capacity to respond to an emergency to be improved.
