The handover took place in the first days of October, as detailed by the city's Consejo Local de Hermandades y Cofradías.
Countdown to Lent
With the poster already in the hands of its presenter, the city faces the final stretch towards a new Lent and Holy Week. The Consejo Local states that January will mark the start of that period, with the beginning of the events and services that precede the main week.
What the Consejo Local de Hermandades y Cofradías is
The Consejo Local de Hermandades y Cofradías is the body that groups together and coordinates the brotherhoods and confraternities of San Fernando. It is responsible for organising the common events of Holy Week and for commissioning the announcement poster each year, which is presented before the start of Lent.
The poster, prelude to Holy Week
The Holy Week poster is the image that announces the celebration throughout the city and is usually presented in the months before Lent. On this occasion, the photograph is by Harry Callahan and its presentation is by Francisco M. Hernández Pérez, as indicated by the Consejo Local.
