The Campamento library, in the La Rosaleda building, hosts a new session of «Charlas con el autor». The guest is journalist and writer José Antonio Ortega Espinosa, who presents his book «Historia medieval de Algeciras, La destrucción de al-Yazirat al-Jadra en el siglo XIV».
The initiative of the Red de Bibliotecas de San Roque also seeks for the public to interact with the author. The activity has the collaboration of Canal San Roque TV y Multimedia and is coordinated by councilwoman Rocío Fernández.
The book, published by the publishing house Almuzara this 2026, argues that not everything was destruction and abandonment in the Algeciras of 1375, and analyzes the demolition and evacuation of medieval Algeciras by the Nasrids and its possible causes.
