Around 30 exhibitors specialising in cured meats, sausages and Iberian pork products are occupying Paseo de la Constitución in Los Barrios from this Friday. The V Mercado Gastronómico del Cerdo Ibérico y sus Productos thus opens a weekend that also has room for oils, breads and other artisan products.
Among the participating firms are Embutidos Melgar, El Cerdito Andaluz, Pepe Jime, Embutidos Medina, Gamarro, Icarben and José Manuel Almario. The market remains open until Sunday, November 8.
Music, tagarninas and giant tosta
The programme starts this Friday, November 6 with a performance by the group D’Werta i media at 17.00. On Saturday, November 7, at 14.00 there will be a tagarninas tasting and in the afternoon, at 17.00, Abraham Sevilla will perform.
The most awaited moment comes on Sunday, November 8 at 13.30, with the V edition of the Tosta Barreña de Productos Ibéricos, a large-scale preparation that will go along calle La Plata. Peña Cultural y Musical La Tagarnina and Asociación Meta Andalucía are collaborating in it, together with the bakeries Acevedo, Nuestra Señora de los Milagros, Horno de leña del Abuerlo Fernando and Panadería Calle Soledad.
The event reaches its fifth edition. It was already presented last October 23 at the Casa de la Cultura, where the dates and the participation of exhibitors and of Peña La Tagarnina were announced.
The delegate for Feria y Fiestas, May Gallego, thanked the associations involved for their work «not only in the preparation of the tagarninas tomorrow Saturday, but also in the great tosta on Sunday». The mayor, Miguel Alconchel, encouraged residents and visitors to come to Paseo de la Constitución during these days.
