The road to the Castillo de Castellar de la Frontera hosts this weekend the second edition of the Cronometrada, with 25 registered drivers who will compete over 1,200 metres. Of them, twenty are in the carcross category and five are touring cars, as detailed by the Ayuntamiento de Castellar de la Frontera.
The competition starts on Saturday, October 31 with the administrative and technical checks from 9.00 to 10.30. At 12.00 the road will be closed and at 13.30 the three heats will begin, lasting until around 18.00. At the end the results will be published and the first prizes awarded.
On Sunday, November 1 the road closure will be at 9.00, the starting convoy will form at 9.15 and the competition will begin at 10.00. After the three practice and competition heats, the results will be announced and the trophies awarded before 15.00.
The minute of silence and the programme change
The first day, scheduled for Friday, October 30, has been cancelled out of respect for the national mourning for the victims of the Toledo train accident. That day only the voluntary technical checks will take place and the symbolic starting ceremony in the town is suspended.
On Saturday, at 12.30, a minute of silence is planned in memory of the victims, with the participation of local authorities, the organisation, the marshals and the drivers.
Halloween, on Sunday
The Halloween programme also moves to Sunday, November 1 due to the official mourning. The Templete de la Plaza Andalucía will host the workshops and children's activities and the costume contest, while the Patio Andaluz will be the setting for the terror labyrinth, with passes adapted to different fear levels.
The day will also include the premiere in the municipality of the Cine y Mujeres Rurales cycle, with the screening of the film La buena letra, by Celia Rico, at 17.00. At the same time there will be a circus workshop at the Templete de la Plaza Andalucía and at 18.00 the costume contest. The terror labyrinth will have a children's pass without scares from 19.00 to 20.30 and an adults' pass with scares from 21.30 to 01.00, both at the Patio Andaluz.
