Deadline opens to be the children's Carnival crier

Boys and girls between 11 and 14 years old who want to proclaim the children's Carnival of Cádiz have until November 16 to submit their candidacy. The prize is endowed with 1,300 euros, which will be given to the chosen person, according to the Cádiz City Council. The application can be submitted at the General Registry of the City Council, in person or by electronic means through the registry office. If the telematic route is chosen, the person representing the minor needs a digital signature certificate. Along with the application, a photocopy of the participant's DNI or Libro de Familia, a passport-sized photograph, the text of the proclamation with which they are competing and the DNI of the father, mother or legal guardian must be attached. The rules can be consulted on the City Council's website. The jury that will choose the crier will be chaired by the mayor or the councillor to whom he delegates, and will have four members: a representative of the world of letters, another from the performing arts, another from the Carnival and a member of the Municipal Delegation of Fiestas and Carnival, as well as a person who will act as secretary. All candidates will be interviewed and will read the proclamation they have submitted.

At the same time, the Municipal Delegation of Fiestas keeps open until November 16 the deadline to apply for the 2027 grants aimed at entities, groups and associations that organise festival and Carnival events. The call is resolved under a competitive bidding system and distributes 267,450 euros in three lines, around 17% more than in the previous one. For the children's proclamation contest, the application must be submitted with the indicated documentation before November 16 at the General Registry or through the electronic office.
