The Real Club Náutico de La Línea (RCNLL) holds the second Copa Ubago on Saturday, October 24, a cruiser sailing regatta that will bring together nearly 80 sailors from crews from Spain and Gibraltar. The event takes place in the waters of the Strait and the Campo de Gibraltar coast.

A 35-mile course

The boats will set off from the playa de Poniente in La Línea de la Concepción heading for the Puerto Deportivo de Sotogrande, where they must round a buoy to begin the return to the finish line. In total they will face a course of approximately 35 nautical miles, with an estimated sailing time of about seven hours depending on the weather conditions. Among the registered crews, the participation of a racing boat from Ceuta stands out. The organisation has expressly wished to thank them for their presence given the difficult circumstances the city is currently going through.

Sponsors and presentation

The regatta has Ubago as its main sponsor. Puerto Deportivo Alcaidesa Marina, AC Hotels by Marriott, Supermercados Ruiz Galán, Puerto Deportivo de Sotogrande, the Diputación de Cádiz and the Ayuntamiento de La Línea de la Concepción also collaborate. The presentation was attended by the councillor for Sports, Alejandro Rodríguez, and by representatives of the RCNLL board, including the secretary, the commodore and the vice-president of the entity.
