The Virgen de la Paz nursery school, in Los Barrios, will have a Higher Technician in Early Childhood Education (TSEI) joining immediately. According to Los Barrios Town Council, the regional Education delegation conveyed this decision hours after the meeting held on Tuesday, October 20 with its top official, José Ángel Aparicio, which was attended by the mayor, Miguel Alconchel, and the second deputy mayor, Antonio Dávila.

A demand since the start of the school year

The incorporation of this professional was one of the main demands the government team had been raising since the meeting held on September 29 between the head of the education authority, the government team, fathers and mothers and the directors of the municipality's nursery schools. At that meeting, the staffing problems and shortages that Los Barrios' nursery schools had been suffering since the start of the school year were addressed. The mayor, Miguel Alconchel, has stated that this incorporation will prevent one of the major shortages suffered by the Virgen de la Paz nursery school from worsening, and has thanked the regional Education delegation for its effort to resolve as soon as possible the staffing problems that still persist.

The Town Council will keep demanding more professionals

The Council reiterates that it will continue to demand from the Public Service delegation the provision of the professionals needed for the proper running of the municipality's nursery schools.

What it means for families

The centre adds one more professional to its staff, which according to the Town Council prevents the staff shortage affecting the service from worsening. The measure comes after the demands conveyed by families and the directors of the municipality's nursery schools.
