Plaza Huerta de la Cruz in Sanlúcar opens new pavements, parking areas and garden zones
The Sanlúcar de Barrameda City Council has completed the remodelling of Plaza Huerta de la Cruz, in Barrio Alto, with new pavements, roadway, parking, pedestrian routes and street furniture. The mayor, Carmen Álvarez, visited the result of the works this Wednesday.
Plaza Huerta de la Cruz, in Barrio Alto in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, now has the remodelling works completed. The project has renewed pavements and roadway, repaired surfaces and improved parking, accessibility and pedestrian routes. The seating and garden areas have also been refurbished and the street furniture and signage renewed.
What has changed for residents
The result is a public space with better accessibility conditions and refurbished seating and garden areas. According to the City Council, the intervention responds to a long-standing neighbourhood demand due to the deterioration the plaza had suffered after many years without improvements.
The mayor, Carmen Álvarez, has stated that the works have transformed the plaza into "a more modern, accessible and functional space for the enjoyment of the neighbourhood of the area and of the whole population of Sanlúcar". The mayor made these statements during a technical visit to the space, accompanied by the municipal delegate for Infrastructures, David Cáceres.
A project within the municipal plan
The City Council frames this work within its goal of recovering and improving the public spaces of the town, with actions aimed at meeting the needs of the neighbourhoods. In the words of the mayor, "Huerta de la Cruz is another plaza that joins the list of remodelled public spaces within the firm purpose of the local government to keep improving our neighbourhoods".
