The tourism sector of Chiclana has met to take stock of the 2026 season and put forward new proposals to improve the municipality's offer in the coming years. This was stated by the Ayuntamiento following the meeting of the Mesa del Turismo.

Who sits at the table

The meeting was attended by representatives of the city's hotels and of companies linked to the sector, such as nautical companies, hospitality businesses, sports companies and environmental centres, as well as the company holding the public transport concession. Students from the Ciclo Formativo de Gestión de Alojamientos Turísticos at IES La Pedrera Blanca also attended.

What was done in 2026

According to the Consistorio, during this year work has continued on beautifying the city, with new sculptures of historical figures in the area of Nueva Gadeira and at the Ayuntamiento itself. On sustainability, action has been taken both on the beach and with the installation of the brown container. To this are added new gastronomic, sports and cultural events, and new projects funded with European funds.

Mobility and facilities

The Ayuntamiento states that new actions on mobility have also been addressed, with the consolidation of the Zona Naranja, the Plan de Movilidad Sostenible and the increase in the number of taxis, which will continue in the coming years. The creation of new facilities for congress tourism, such as the cultural space of Las Albinas, has also been discussed.

The authorities

The mayor of Chiclana, José María Román, chaired the meeting, held at the centro de interpretación del Vino y la Sal. The delegate for Playas, Ana González, and the delegate for Turismo Sostenible, Manuela Pérez, were present. Román stated that «all the economic sectors of the city are aware of the importance of tourism for a city like Chiclana and that synergy is essential in order to work towards new goals in the coming years».
