Chipiona expands its Autumn Theatre Festival to four days
The Palacio de Ferias hosts four plays from November 5 to 8 with free admission until full capacity is reached.
The Federico Oliver Crespo Autumn Theatre Festival in Chipiona will be held from November 5 to 8, 2026 at the town's Palacio de Ferias y Exposiciones. This year the event arrives with one more day than in the previous edition and with the addition of a local group to the programme, according to the Delegación de Cultura del Ayuntamiento.
Four plays and free admission
The festival brings together four stage productions, with plays ranging from comedy to drama. All performances will be at 20:00 and admission is free until full capacity is reached.
The programme starts on Thursday, November 5 at 20:00 with the official presentation of the festival. At 20:30, «Burladas», by Esther Berzal, will be staged by the company Flexión Producciones.
On Friday, November 6, at 20:00, «Por los pelos», by Paul Pörtner, will be performed by the Federico Oliver de Nuevo Ateneo de Chipiona theatre group. On Saturday, November 7, also at 20:00, it will be the turn of «El Ramper», by Jesús Bienvenido, with the company CC Meraki. The festival will close on Sunday, November 8 with «El testigo», by the Cádiz-born author Fernando Quiñones, performed by Mediazuela Teatro.
A commitment to local talent
The culture councillor, Tano Guzmán, has said that the expansion responds to public demand and to the wish to strengthen the cultural offering. «We have committed to theatre in the town because we see that there is that need and that demand among the population,» he stated.
Guzmán also highlighted the figure of Federico Oliver Crespo, a playwright and theatre producer born in Chipiona and founder of the Sociedad General de Autores, after whom the festival is named.

No prior registration is required: you can go directly to each performance at the Palacio de Ferias y Exposiciones until full capacity is reached. The festival is organised by the Delegación de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Chipiona, with the collaboration of the Diputación de Cádiz and the Planeamos Cultura programme.
