The employment and training fair of the Mancomunidad del Campo de Gibraltar opens this Tuesday at Parque de las Acacias with 27 participating entities.
The second edition of the Feria de Muestras y Oportunidades Laborales EMPLEA-FEST 2026 has opened its doors this Tuesday at Parque de las Acacias in Algeciras. The event brings together 27 companies and organisations from different sectors in order to put the business fabric in direct contact with those seeking employment or wanting to improve their professional situation.
Opening hours and days to attend
The fair is held on October 27 and 28, from 9.00 to 13.30 hours, at Parque de las Acacias in Algeciras. The day of this Wednesday, October 28 is the last one.
During those hours there are exhibition spaces, company presentations and informative talks. According to the Mancomunidad, these spaces allow visitors to learn about the activity of the participating entities, the most sought-after professional profiles and the skills that companies ask for. They also serve to answer questions, receive guidance and establish contacts that may facilitate future entries into the labour market.
More companies than at the presentation
At the presentation of the fair, on October 19, the comarcal institution announced the participation of 26 companies and entities. In this edition there are finally 27, one more than planned.
The initiative is part of the Innova Campo de Gibraltar 2026 programme, funded by the Diputación Provincial de Cádiz.
Recognition for Grupo MASA
One of the moments of the day has been the recognition of Grupo MASA, an industrial maintenance and assembly company that turns 50 in November. Founded in 1976, it works in sectors such as energy, petrochemicals, steel and automotive, with a presence in Spain, France, Portugal and Morocco. The distinction, according to the Mancomunidad, recognises its contribution to the industrial and economic development of the region and to the generation of skilled employment.
The opening has been presided over by the president of the Mancomunidad de Municipios del Campo de Gibraltar, Susana Pérez Custodio, and the vice-president and delegate for Employment and Training, María Teresa García León, who have presented the recognition to the company's representatives. Representatives of Los Barrios, San Martín del Tesorillo, the Junta de Andalucía and the Confederación Empresarial de Cádiz have also attended the event.
