The Plaza del Castillo in El Puerto de Santa María will be transformed on October 29, 30 and 31 into a fantasy village inspired by the world of Sleepy Hollow. The activity, called El Puerto Halloween, is free and aimed at families, according to the City Council through the Department of Festivities.

Three settings and a mystery

Those who enter must follow the clues given by the village inhabitants to discover the secret hidden by a large pumpkin tree more than five metres tall, which will preside over the square. The route passes through three settings: El Caldero de las Brujas, with the witch Morgana; El Laboratorio del Doctor Loco, with Doctor Chiflado, and La Casa de las Muñecas, where Amelia reveals the end of the story. Outside the settings, two gravediggers will walk around the venue interacting with the public.

Times for the three days

Opening will be at 18:30 on all three days. On Thursday 29 the route ends at 22:00; on Friday 30, at 23:30, and on Saturday 31, at 00:00.

What you need to do to go

No registration or ticket purchase is needed: access is free and open until capacity allows, and you just need to go to the Plaza del Castillo at the indicated time. The deputy mayor for Festivities, David Calleja, says the proposal aims for children to "experience a movie-style Halloween" and be the protagonists of the story. Calleja adds that the City Council is preparing more activities for these dates, such as the Gran Cabalgata and the musical Club de Villanos.
