The historical-inspired wine tasting held on Friday, November 6 in the Sala Mudéjar of the Palacio de Araníbar filled all 35 planned places. Attendees journeyed through the history of wine through four offerings —mulsum, rose, violet and cinnamon wine—, each with a pairing inspired by the gastronomy of the period, as detailed by the Ayuntamiento de El Puerto de Santa María.
The activity is part of the programme for World Enotourism Day, which is celebrated on Sunday, November 8, and of the Sherry Week. The set of events, adding the private initiatives, is expected to exceed two hundred and fifty people.
Free visits this weekend
This Saturday, November 7, there is a free guided visit to Bodega de Forlong y Viñedos with a tasting of its wines, and a free guided tasting with aperitif at Viña La Torre. On Sunday, November 8, at 11:00, Viña La Torre hosts a pilates class led by a professional instructor.
Among the private offerings is a visit to Bodega Gutiérrez Colosía with wine and tapa tasting, which can include six wines and six tapas at the Bespoke restaurant, from November 3 to 7.
The bike route is postponed to Sunday 22
The free guided bike route between vineyards, wetlands, a wine house and albariza landscapes, with a glass and aperitif at the Casa de Viña «La Bendita Locura», was scheduled to be held this Sunday, November 8, with departure and arrival at the CEAAN Coto de la Isleta. It has been postponed to Sunday, November 22 due to the forecast of rain.
The councillor for Tourism, Olga de Navas, notes that enotourism allows the city's attractions to be combined and boosts the local economy beyond the high season.
