The University of Cádiz (UCA) has brought its offer of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees to students in Argentina and Uruguay through the «Estudiar en España» fair, organised by the Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education (SEPIE), under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. The event has been held at the Colegio Español Cervantes in Montevideo and at the Instituto Gallego Hispano-Argentino Santiago Apóstol in Buenos Aires throughout the month of October.
Direct contact with future students
According to the university in Cádiz, the event has served to raise awareness of the educational offer of Spanish universities, attract international talent and establish direct contact with Latin American students interested in pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Spain. The institution frames this activity within its Internationalisation Plan, which identifies South America, Central America and the Caribbean as a priority region.
The UCA delegation was made up of the Director General of Internationalisation Promotion, Sofía Pérez de Guzmán; the Director General of International Mobility, Laura Cubillana; and the director of the secretariat of the SEA-EU Alliance at the University of Cádiz, Gema Ramírez.
Meetings with universities in the region
In addition to the fair, the team carried out an institutional agenda to consolidate relations with universities and educational bodies in the area. In Montevideo it met with the director of the Department of Mobility and International Relations of the Universidad de la República, Adriana Morillas, and other members of the International Relations Service, to address mobility and cooperation matters.
The Spanish ambassador in Uruguay, Javier Salido Ortiz, also received at his residence the delegation of Spanish universities taking part in the fair, in an institutional meeting on collaboration between educational institutions and bodies of foreign representation.
