The guitarist Vicente Amigo performs this Saturday, November 7 at 20:00 at the Gran Teatro Falla, where he will present his latest work, 'Andenes del Tiempo'. The concert is part of the celebration of Flamenco as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Tickets are on sale at the Theater box office and on the Bacantix website. The album's repertoire covers a variety of styles. It ranges from classic forms such as the bulería and the soleá to others less common on a guitar album, such as the tanguillos de Cádiz, the pasodoble, the rumba and the bolero. The track that gives the work its name is, according to the Ayuntamiento, the one that departs most from the rest, with an almost cinematic soundscape due to the composition and the timbre used.

From the Cante de las Minas to the Grammy

Born in Guadalcanal (Sevilla) and raised in Córdoba, Amigo received his first Spanish guitar at the age of eight. In 1988 he began his solo career at the Festival Nacional del Cante de las Minas de La Unión, where he won first prize in guitar. In May 1989 he won the Premio Ramón Montoya at the Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco de Córdoba. His first album, 'De Mi Corazón al Aire' (1991), won the Ícaro and El Ojo Crítico awards. In 1997 he released 'Poeta', based on the work of Rafael Alberti, and in 2000 'Ciudad de las Ideas', which earned him the Grammy for Best Flamenco Album in 2001. In 2002 he received the Premio Ondas and was named Hijo Adoptivo de Córdoba.

More flamenco at the Falla

The same cycle includes two other dates at the Cádiz coliseum. On Tuesday, November 10 comes 'Lo Inédito', by La Lupi. On Saturday, November 14, David Palomar and the Orquesta y Coral de la Universidad de Cádiz perform the 'Requiem a D. Manuel de Falla', on the 150th anniversary of the Cádiz composer.
