The resurfacing of the Fuente Amarga road starts on Thursday, October 22. The first phase will be carried out between Santo Cristo and Turina street and the work will continue until next week. When it finishes, the next phase will begin, between the callejón de Borreguitos and La Rinconada street.
A traffic plan for driving through the area
During the days the works last, the Local Police have prepared a traffic plan so that vehicles can drive through the area with the least possible inconvenience, according to the delegate of Mobility, Jose Vera. The councillor acknowledges that for residents «they may be somewhat more complicated days», although he maintains that the resurfacing of this road is «very necessary» to improve traffic flow and safety.
Four phases, two of them later on
The work has been divided into four phases, but two will be carried out later, once the works currently being done on avenida de la Música are completed to connect the general branch with the future tank and with the one that already exists in Naveritos, of the Consorcio de Agua de la Zona Gaditana.
Within the 2026 resurfacing campaign
These works are part of this year's 2026 resurfacing campaign, which has an investment of two million euros. Since last May work has been carried out at different points in the municipality. After the Fuente Amarga road will come the cañada de los Carabineros, Almicar Barca, avenida del Trabajo, cuesta del Matadero and the Las Lagunas road.
