The Plaza del Castillo in El Puerto de Santa María will host an immersive Halloween experience on October 29, 30 and 31 with free entry. The route, designed for families, turns the site into a fantasy village inspired by the Sleepy Hollow universe, with scenery, special effects and live characters.

Three scenes and a mystery

Those who enter must follow the clues given by the villagers to discover the secret hidden by the great pumpkin tree. The adventure begins at El Caldero de las Brujas, with the Witch Morgana; it continues at El Laboratorio del Doctor Loco, with the Doctor Chiflado, and ends at La Casa de las Muñecas, where Amelia reveals the outcome. Outside the scenes, two gravediggers will walk around the grounds interacting with the public. The main attraction will be a pumpkin tree more than five metres tall that will preside over the square and serve as a backdrop for photographs.

Opening hours and access

The activity opens at 18:30 on all three days, with these closing times:
  • Thursday, October 29: from 18:30 to 22:00.
  • Friday, October 30: from 18:30 to 23:30.
  • Saturday, October 31: from 18:30 to 00:00.
No registration or ticket is needed: access is free and open until the venue reaches capacity.

More Halloween in the city

The deputy mayor for Fiestas, David Calleja, says that this proposal is one of the big new features of the municipal Halloween programme and that the Ayuntamiento is also preparing other activities, such as the Gran Cabalgata and the musical «Club de Villanos». According to him, the aim is to offer family leisure alternatives and boost the historic centre. The Ayuntamiento already announced on October 20 a «Truco o trato» route in local shops, with 17 participating establishments, within that same programme.
