The XI San Roque Suena Festival programmes five concerts at the Teatro Juan Luis Galiardo between November 5 and 21, two of them within the IV San Roque Jazz Festival. Tickets can be bought in advance on Giglon or at the box office on the day of each performance.
The Teatro Juan Luis Galiardo in San Roque will host five concerts for all audiences between November 5 and 21, according to the Council's Department of Culture. Two of them are part of the IV San Roque Jazz Festival.
The programme, concert by concert
- Thursday, November 5, at 10.00 hours: O Sister! presents «eJazz: Mujeres que hicieron historia», an educational concert for schoolchildren within the Abecedaria circuit about the origins of jazz.
- Friday, November 6, at 20.00 hours: drummer Marc Miralta brings «New York Flamenco Reunion», his 25th anniversary tour, with Álex Conde on piano, Pedro Cortejosa on sax, Miguel Álvarez on double bass and Bandolero on percussion.
- Saturday, November 7, at 20.00 hours: jazz and blues with Arturo Cid Plays, accompanied by Antonio Molina on guitar, Álex Serrano on piano, Dani Levy on double bass and Guillermo «Giggs» Nother on drums.
- Thursday, November 12, at 19.00 hours: Veterum Musicae offers «La voz que aún resuena. Mujeres en las tres culturas», a programme of medieval Christian, Jewish and Muslim music.
- Sunday, November 21, at 19.00 hours: the pianist from Algeciras Diego Valdivia presents «Aromas del sur» in sextet format, with violin, viola, percussion and acoustic guitar, and the dancer Laura Martínez.
Tickets and jazz pass
Tickets can be purchased in advance on the Giglon platform or at the theatre box office on the day of each concert. For the two shows of the IV San Roque Jazz Festival, the advance price is 13 euros and 18 euros at the box office. There is a 20-euro pass for the two concerts of the festival.
Who organises it
Organised by the Department of Culture, with the collaboration of the Red Andaluza de Teatros Públicos and the Empresa Multimedia de San Roque. In the case of the IV San Roque Jazz Festival there is also co-organisation by Rizoma Records. The deputy mayor for Culture, Ana Ruiz, presented the programme together with the coordinator of the Department of Culture, César Aldana.
