El Puerto Global has strengthened the supervision of municipal services with a new inspection service from its Technical Office. The work is carried out in the Environment and Infrastructure areas and serves to check on the ground how services are provided, track the progress of the work and identify the areas that need most attention.
Street cleaning and rubbish collection
In the collection of urban solid waste, two controllers have devoted 290 hours, 8 minutes and 29 seconds to monitoring the service between June 1 and October 16, 2026. The monitoring has covered the nine routes of the control programme, with inspections in areas such as Centro, Costa Oeste, Puerto Norte and Valdelagrana. Costa Oeste and Centro account for the greatest dedication, with more than 104 and a half hours of joint supervision, close to 36% of the total time.
The inspection relies on the prior work of the municipal company's technical team, which digitised the routes of the collection vehicles and geolocated the city's containers. To that base is added real-time tracking of the fleet of lorries and machinery through equipment installed in the vehicles, which makes it possible to know their location and optimise routes or respond to unforeseen events during the day.
Urban maintenance
In Infrastructure, the Technical Office reviews urban maintenance actions. The balance for the third quarter of 2026, from July to September, records 356 actions, with an average of close to 119 per month: 133 in July, 114 in August and 109 in September. The activity reached all four districts: 99 actions in Zona Norte, 89 in Centro, 84 in Costa Oeste and 84 in Valdelagrana.
The work focuses above all on pavements and paving, alongside interventions in street furniture, tree pits, clearing, walls, stairs and ramps. Among the locations with the most actions are the carretera de Sanlúcar, with 11; the carretera de Fuentebravía, the avenida de Madrid and the calle Cuatro Pinos, with 10 each; and the avenida de la Paz, with 9. The balance records an average of 11 inspections per working day.
Warning before it gets worse
The inspections also have a preventive function: they identify areas that need more cleaning, collection or road maintenance and detect the deterioration of pavements and paving. That information is passed on to the responsible areas to plan reinforcements and act before the issues worsen.
The deputy mayor for Information, Communication and Administrative Simplification and president of El Puerto Global, Javier Bello, points out that this work "makes it possible to have more complete and precise information on how municipal services are being provided and to detect more quickly those points where action is needed".
