The Provincial Council of Cádiz is going to analyse how the urban planning offices of the province's municipalities with fewer than 25,000 inhabitants operate. The aim is to find out how much work they handle, what procedures they usually process, what stage the files currently in progress are at and what technical and human resources they have.

What is intended

With the results, the provincial administration will draw up a diagnosis and decide what assistance it can provide to these town councils to speed up their urban planning procedures. According to the deputy for Municipal Assistance, Antonio Aragón, speeding up these procedures will favour urban development, investment, employment, construction and access to housing in these towns. The study was addressed at a meeting between Aragón and officials of the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Cádiz, held at the association's headquarters. The meeting discussed possible ways of collaboration between both entities to facilitate the processing of urban planning files, especially in municipalities with fewer inhabitants and, therefore, with fewer resources.

Who it affects

The measure is aimed at the town councils of towns with fewer than 25,000 inhabitants, which are the ones with the fewest means to resolve this type of file. The assistance is part of the support that the Provincial Council provides to Cádiz town councils through the Municipal Assistance Service, which in this term focuses on drafting the basic municipal planning plans (PBOM) and on hiring technical staff.
