El Puerto de Santa María has hosted a stop of the FIM Mototour of Races, an activity organised for the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) and linked to the Superbike World Championship being held in Jerez until October 20. The group is made up of between 30 and 40 people linked to the world of motorcycling, who over six days combine VIP access to the races with motorcycle routes and guided visits to the main landmarks of the area.
Visits around the city
In El Puerto, the participants took a guided tour in English of the El Puerto de los Cargadores a Indias Interpretation Centre, in the Palacio de Araníbar, and then walked through the historic centre with a Tourism guide. The itinerary ended at the Plaza Isaac Peral, opposite the Ayuntamiento.
The deputy mayor for Tourism and City Promotion, Olga de Navas, received the group in the Salón Mudéjar of the Palacio de Araníbar, headquarters of the Tourism Department. According to her, the aim is that those who come attracted by a major competition also discover the history, heritage and gastronomy of the city, so that a first visit becomes a desire to return.
International reach
The activities of each day are recorded on video and later broadcast internationally, which according to the Ayuntamiento extends the tourism projection of the participating destinations among fans from different countries.
The Consistorio states that this visit strengthens collaboration with the Club Mototurismo Deportivo Andaluz, chaired by José Carlos Copete Sánchez, Mototourism delegate of the Real Federación Motociclista Española (RFME), following the experience shared in organising the Ruta de los Almorávides in 2025.
For fans
The FIM Mototour of Races does not open registration to the public at this stop: it is a closed group of international participants who are already part of the event programme.
