The exhibition «Una chuchería súper dulce», by the artist Nena Loaysa, can now be visited at the Centro Cultural Alfonso X in El Puerto de Santa María. The show will remain open until November 14 and the official inauguration, with the deputy mayor of Culture, Enrique Iglesias, took place on Friday 23 at 20:00.
What can be seen
According to the Ayuntamiento de El Puerto, it is a proposal about identity, femininity and the contradictions of everyday life. Loaysa presents a pictorial universe of color, energy and contrasts in which the friendly appearance of the images coexists with a critical view of reality.
The artist, trained in Fine Arts and specialized in painting at the Universidad de Sevilla, with studies in engraving and design at the Universidad de Salamanca, has developed a figurative and colorful language. In her work she explores identity, femininity, motherhood and the tensions of everyday experience, intertwining references to childhood and her biography with a critical reading of the world.
The title refers to an imaginary close to childhood, loaded with visual stimuli. Within her artistic project TKM.XOXO, color and friendly appearance also function as a gateway to questions of identity, gender and personal experiences.
