The water reaching Conil will get a boost. The Consorcio de Aguas de la Zona Gaditana has been working since last June on a new connection via a pipeline in Chiclana that will increase transport capacity and allow a greater flow of water to be sent to the municipality. The project involves an investment of one million euros and its aim is to improve the arrival of water to Conil and reinforce the guarantee of supply.

More flow in summer

The reinforcement responds to the need to increase the available flow and supply capacity, especially during the summer months, when the rise in population causes a considerable increase in demand and can cause serious problems. As explained by the president of the Consorcio de Aguas de la Zona Gaditana, Andrés Díaz, one of the main objectives is to improve the arrival of water to Conil. The mayor, Inmaculada Sánchez, has stated that this infrastructure, together with the construction of the future reservoir, will improve storage capacity.

Coordination with the Consortium

Sánchez has stressed the importance of continuing to work in coordination with the Consortium to respond to the supply problems that have been occurring, and has thanked it for its work and involvement with the municipality. "We are working alongside the Consorcio de Aguas de la Zona Gaditana to find solutions to the supply problems we suffer especially every summer, when the population increases considerably. Our goal is to prevent residents from being affected by the reduction in flows and to ensure they can have a normal supply in their homes," the mayor has stated.
