The Box youth initiatives centre in Chiclana will host a new edition of MecatolFest on Saturday, November 7, a leisure day dedicated to board games and role-playing games. The activity is free and is open to both young people and adults, with a recommended age from 14 years old.
Games, role-playing and workshops
Those who come along will be able to take part in board games, role-playing sessions and workshops, among other activities. In this edition the event revolves around 'The Godfather' and around series and films that have marked an era and that have had their board game or role-playing game version.
As Roberto De Nicola, representative of the Asociación Mecatol Rex Cádiz, explains, the aim is for those who attend «to be able to experience first-hand many of the things we have always seen on screen».
An event open to all audiences
The municipal Youth delegate, Fede Díaz, has pointed out that this is the last activity the organisation holds in 2026 and has invited the public to take part, including those who have not played before. In his speech he assured that those who attend «will feel fully welcomed» and will find «a space for coexistence».
The association organises this gathering together with the Youth Delegation of the City Council. Antonio Hidalgo, also from Mecatol Rex Cádiz, has indicated that those who want to get to know the organisation can come to its headquarters on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings, where there is a space to play and share time with people of very diverse ages.
How to sign up
To get more information about the event or to sign up for the activities planned within the role-playing games, go to the association's website, the Mecatol Rex Cádiz page. The event is on Saturday, November 7 at the Box centre and entry is free.
