Christmas zambombas in La Línea de la Concepción may only be held between December 3 and 27, both days included. This is established by the municipal edict with the requirements for obtaining City Council authorization, according to the Consistory.

Deadlines and applications

Anyone organizing a zambomba must submit the application at the City Council's General Registry fifteen days before the event. For those held in public streets, in addition to the occasional authorization, an express permit for occupation of public domain will be required. Only those organized or promoted by religious, cultural, sports, neighborhood, merchants, hospitality associations and other non-profit entities will be authorized, and always provided they have municipal collaboration, promotion or sponsorship.

Private zambombas and licensed venues

Strictly private or family zambombas do not need municipal authorization, in accordance with Law 13/1999, of December 15, on Public Shows and Recreational Activities of Andalusia. The venues where they are held must comply with safety conditions and noise limits. Those held in venues open to the public, those publicized by any means or social media, or those where admission, a ticket or a minimum consumption is charged are not considered private.

Opening hours

Zambombas may run until 00:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and eves of public holidays. On other weekdays and Sundays the limit will be 22:00. Failure to comply with these conditions may give rise to administrative liability, without prejudice to civil or criminal liability.

Where to check

The complete requirements are on the municipal notice board, at the City Council website. Applications are submitted at the General Registry fifteen days before the event.
