The old Cárcel Real in Cádiz hosts until October 30 the exhibition «Ese mar que nos une», a show with nearly seventy works by fourteen artists that reflect the city's relationship with the ocean. The event is at the Sala Blas de Lezo and entry can be visited within the venue's opening hours.
Painting, sculpture, photography and comic
The show brings together painting, sculpture, photography and comic. Among the participants are Antonio Agudo, Augusto Arana, Manuel S. Arcenegui, Carmen Bustamante, Luis Gonzalo González, Ingrid Haubrich, Joaquín Hernández Kiki, Abel Ippolito, Pablo Juliá, Sylvain Marc, Antonio Aparicio Mota, Paco Pérez Valencia, José Antonio Pérez de Vargas and Antonio Rojas. Two of them have already died: the Sevillian Antonio Agudo and the Jerez-born Luis Gonzalo.
The curator of the exhibition is Bernardo Palomo, and one of the artists, Paco Pérez Valencia, has been in charge of the museography and installation.
Framed within the Blue Zone Forum
The exhibition is part of the programme of the Blue Zone Forum 2026, an event organised by the Zona Franca de Cádiz around the blue economy and which runs in parallel with the XXIX Conference of Ibero-American Free Zones, scheduled from October 26 to 28. The show has the collaboration of the Zona Franca and is organised by the Sociedad Municipal Cádiz 2012.
