Rota chooses those who will bring to life the Star, the Royal Postman and the Three Wise Men of Christmas 2026-2027

The multi-purpose hall of the Palacio Municipal Castillo de Luna hosted this Monday, October 19, the public draw by which the people who will represent the characters of Christmas 2026-2027 in Rota are chosen. The event was initially scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, and was postponed due to the three days of official mourning decreed for the death of former mayor Domingo Sánchez Rizo, as the Ayuntamiento reported at the time.

Manuel Lora Niño will play Santa Claus, with Rafael Román Rebollo as substitute. Rosario Fátima Morillo Bernal will be the Estrella de la Ilusión; Cristina María Arjona Ruiz and María Márquez Bernal are the first and second substitutes. The Cartero Real falls to Manuel Acuña Harana, with Fidel Moreno Arjona and José Antonio Caballero Herrera as substitutes. Ana María Garrido García will bring King Gaspar to life, with Rafael Román Rebollo and José Antonio Caballero Herrera as substitutes. Daniel Rodríguez Enríquez will be King Baltasar, and Félix Barrientos Rodríguez and Manuel Bernal Mateos his substitutes.

The Delegación municipal de Fiestas details that the Estrella de la Ilusión received 70 applications, of which 68 were admitted, and the Cartero Real had 45, with 42 valid candidacies. For Reyes Magos, 61 people applied, with 57 candidacies admitted: all took part in the draw for King Gaspar and 49 in that for King Baltasar. For Santa Claus, two applications that met the requirements were submitted. The pajes were also chosen by draw. For the children's pajes there were 24 applications, all admitted, and for the adults, 29, equally valid. In the Estrella de la Ilusión float the children's pajes will be Carmen Prado Puyana, Cloe Gómez García, Asiel Carreño Toraño and Mario Márquez Martín-Niño, with Julia Martín Arroyo Lugo and Lucía Amores Jiménez as substitutes. In that of the Cartero Real will be Nazyfe Espadas Vázquez, Manuela Puyana Castellano, Abril Bravo Moyano and Flavio Calvo Delgado, with Nadira Moreno Cerpa and Oliva Román Arana as substitutes. Carla Niño Nova and Álvaro Bernal Sánchez will be the adult pajes of King Melchor, with Félix Ramos García and Virginia Azahara Barce Pardo as substitutes. In the float of King Gaspar will be Blanca Rebollo García and Paola García Ruiz Henestrosa, with Gonzalo Ruiz Ganfornina and Laura Bernal González as substitutes. For King Baltasar, Miguel Ángel Bolaños Gutiérrez and María Fuentes Martín Arroyo, with Felipe Martínez Marrufo and Pablo Gómez Bolaños as substitutes.

The delegada municipal de Fiestas, Esther García, thanked the participation recorded and congratulated the people chosen. The mayor of Rota, José Javier Ruiz, accompanied by the delegada, personally called those selected as Rey Mago, Cartero and Estrella to inform them of the news.
